ROOKIVA + CHATGPT

Prepare your courses with ChatGPT. You decide what gets published.

Rookiva — Course Builder is a connector you add to your own ChatGPT account. You describe the course; ChatGPT prepares it; you review it in Rookiva before anything is created.

What it lets you do

  • Prepare a new course, with explanations and practice questions, from a description.
  • Review the exact content in Rookiva: every text, question and answer.
  • Approve it, and only then create the course as a draft in your academy.
  • The connector’s tools do not give access to your students, payments or files, and cannot publish, change existing courses or delete content. Besides preparing drafts and creating the ones you approved, they only let ChatGPT see the name of the academy the connection works in and check the status of the draft requests you prepared with it. Your Rookiva password is typed only in Rookiva, never in the chat.

How it works

  1. Connect

Add the connector in ChatGPT and allow it in Rookiva.

  2. Ask for the course

In a chat, select Rookiva — Course Builder and describe the course you need.

  3. Review and approve in Rookiva

ChatGPT gives you a Rookiva link with the exact content.

  4. Create

Ask ChatGPT to create it; it appears in Courses as a draft.

  5. Edit and publish

Adjust it in Rookiva and publish it yourself when it is ready.

Nothing is published automatically

Every course is created as an unpublished draft. Publishing is always a decision someone in your academy makes in Rookiva.

Who can connect it

  • Only an academy owner or administrator can connect ChatGPT.
  • Each connection belongs to one academy. If you manage several, you choose which one when you allow it; to work in another, connect again.
  • Your ChatGPT account must have developer mode, which ChatGPT offers on the web and depends on your ChatGPT plan; in a workspace, its administrator may need to allow it.

Check current availability in OpenAI’s developer mode documentation.

How to connect

  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Go to Plugins and select the + button to create a developer-mode app.
  3. Name it Rookiva — Course Builder, paste the address below, select OAuth as the authentication method, and create it.
  4. ChatGPT opens Rookiva: sign in with your Rookiva account and press Allow (if you manage several academies, choose one first).
  5. Open a new chat, select the + button in the message box, choose Developer mode and select Rookiva — Course Builder among the available apps. Then describe the course you need.

Example request

Use Rookiva — Course Builder to prepare a 60-minute beginner English course for adults: three short lessons with simple explanations and five practice questions in each one.

Disconnect or reconnect

To disconnect, sign in to Rookiva and open ChatGPT in the menu, then press Disconnect. ChatGPT stops right away and can only connect again if you allow it again.

If ChatGPT shows “Internal error”

This can happen after you disconnect or revoke access. Connect again from ChatGPT: Settings → Plugins → Rookiva — Course Builder → under Connected accounts, open ⋯ and choose Reconnect (or Connect another account if no account is listed). Then sign in to Rookiva and press Allow.
